Closed Consultations

This page contains information on all closed consultations carried out by the SDPA.

There are currently three closed consultations:

1) Submission of the Finalised Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan to Scottish Ministers (This consultation has now closed)

The Finalised Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan was submitted to Scottish Ministers on 27 February 2009. This started an eight week period for the submission of any objections or representations to Scottish Ministers, the deadline for which was 24 April 2009.

The Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Planning Authority (SDPA) agreed the Finalised Plan on 13 February 2009, followed by Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils at special meetings on 19 February 2009.

Submission to Scottish Ministers is an important milestone in the process of preparing the structure plan and is the result of over two years of work. Fundamental to this has been extensive consultation and engagement with communities and stakeholders.

In addition to the consultation on the Finalised Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan, a range of supporting documents were published. These can all be found under 'Emerging Structure Plan'.

2) Draft Structure Plan (This consultation has now closed)

A draft structure plan has been prepared following extensive consultation and engagement with communities and stakeholders. The plan looks forward to 2030 and has a vision for sustainable growth - setting out the type, scale and general location of proposed development over that period. The plan is a significant departure from previous structure plans it its form and content, seeking to be more strategic, focused and action-orientated. The clarity of the plan has been approved by the Plain English Campaign. This is an important document for the future of the area and your views on it would be warmly welcomed. In addition to the Draft Structure Plan, also published for consultation are an SEA Environmental Report, Equalities and Human Rights Impact Assessment and a Background Paper. The closing date for comments on all four documents was 12 September 2008.

3) Draft Proposed Strategic Development Plan Area (This consultation has now closed)

The SDPA is required to submit a proposed boundary to Scottish Ministers for the area to be covered by future strategic development plans (SDPs), with a submission deadline of 25 September 2008. A draft SDP boundary and justification have been proposed which includes the whole of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire but excludes that part of Aberdeenshire within the Cairngorms National Park. The draft boundary can be viewed on Google Maps and the consultation has been advertised in the local press.
