On 14 August 2009 the Scottish Ministers approved the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan 2009 with no modifications. 'Click here' for further information. |
Preparation of a strategic development plan will follow and is likely to start in 2010/11. Both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils have started work on local development plans which will be consistent with the new structure plan.
In line with the requirements of Scottish Planning Policy, the SDPA considered and approved a '' at its meeting of 27 March 2009. This sets out the authority's programme for preparing and reviewing its strategic development plan and what is likely to be involved at each stage.
In the meantime, the focus of work will be on an action programme and securing the implementation of the structure plan.
