Development Plan Scheme Published

The Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Planning Authority (SDPA) has today submitted a 'Development Plan Scheme' to Scottish Ministers. The development plan scheme was agreed by the SDPA on 27 March 2009 and is the first statutory DPS prepared by the SDPA.

The development plan scheme sets out the authority's programme for preparing and reviewing its strategic development plan and what is likely to be involved at each stage. It also includes a participation statement, stating when, how and with whom consultation on the plan will take place, as well as the authority's proposals for public involvement in the plan preparation process. The scheme must be regularly monitored and reviewed at least annually.

This development plan scheme only covers the strategic part of the development plan.  Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Councils published their own development plan schemes in relation to the preparation of local development plans and more information on these can be obtained directly from both councils.
