Aberdeenshire Council has published its Proposed Local Development Plan (LDP) for public consultation until 1 October 2010. The Proposed LDP and Supplementary Guidance builds on the framework established by the Aberdeen City and Shire Structure Plan 2009. This requires the council to allocate housing and employment land in line with structure plan allowances and provide detailed policies on a wide range of issues from tackling climate change to development in the countryside and protection of the environment.
The Aberdeenshire Proposed LDP has been identified in the Structure Plan Action Programme as one of the main ways of delivering the aspirations for the north-east and it is encouraging to see such swift progress in getting to this stage.
In Aberdeen City, the council anticipates it will begin consulting on its Proposed Local Development Plan, in September 2010.
