Local Development Plan Update

The preparation of Local Development Plans (LDPs) in both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire have taken significant steps forward over the last few months. These plans are due to replace those adopted in 2012 and will be the first 'second generation' LDPs to be adopted in Scotland. Both plans have been prepared to implement the Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Plan (2014).

Aberdeen City Council

Aberdeen City Council has submitted its replacement Local Development Plan to Scottish Ministers for clearance to adopt following the publication of the 'Examination Report' in September. The new plan should be formally adopted in January / February 2017.

The City Council is currently consulting on Supplementary Guidance to accompany the Replacement LDP and this is open for representations with a closing date of 30 January 2017,

Aberdeenshire Council

The Scottish Government's Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA) has today published their report into representations to the Proposed Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan.

The 'Examination Report' is now available from the DPEA Website as well as from the Aberdeenshire Council website. Aberdeenshire Council will consider the report and its recommendations in the New Year before moving towards adoption of the new plan.
