Government planning review roadshow comes to Aberdeen

The Scottish Government will be holding a drop-in session in the Trinity Centre in Aberdeen tomorrow (Wednesday 15 March 2017) as part of its engagement activity around the recently published consultation on the future of planning in Scotland.

Running from 9am to 4pm in the shopping centre, the session is for anyone to find out more about what is being proposed and how to respond to the consultation. This opportunity will be particularly relevant to community groups and members of the public.

"Places People and Planning" contains 20 broad proposals for change grouped under four key themes:

  • Making plans for the future;
  • People make the system work;
  • Building more homes and delivering infrastructure; and
  • Stronger leadership and smarter resourcing.

The consultation document is available online and responses should be submitted to the Scottish Government by 5pm on 4 April 2017.

The consultation follows on from the publication in mid-2016 of the Independent Panel's report on the planning system which came up with 48 recommendations for change. More information on the background to the review is contained on the Scottish Government's Planning Reform Web Page.
