Aberdeen City Council met this afternoon and ratified the decision of the Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Planning Authority to publish for representations the Proposed Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Plan. This follows Aberdeenshire Council's ratification on 22 November 2012.
It is currently anticipated that the Proposed Strategic Development Plan will be published in mid-January 2013, with a seven week period for representations. However, a version of the plan will be made available as soon as possible on the website in PDF format.
It is proposed to submit the plan to Scottish Ministers for examination before 17 August 2013 (four years after the approval of the current Structure Plan by Scottish Ministers).
The Proposed Plan represents an evolution of the current structure plan. It recognises Aberdeen City and Shire's global significance and is an aspirational plan for the future - providing opportunities for high quality sustainable growth.
More information will be available closer to the time of publication.
