Proposed Strategic Development Plan published for representations

The Proposed Aberdeen City and Shire Strategic Development Plan has been published today.  A notice was published in the Press and Journal this morning as well as on the tellmescotland website (www.tellmescotland.gov.uk). Notices will appear in a range of Aberdeenshire weekly papers next week.

The proposed plan has been drafted to ensure the area maintains and enhances its enviable quality of life and strong position in the Scottish and wider UK economies. The plan looks forward to 2035 and sets out the new homes, employment land and infrastructure improvements required over that period.

While the plan will be the area's first official strategic development plan, the document retains a clear link with the current structure plan (approved by Scottish Ministers in 2009). It was informed by responses to a main issues report last year as well as monitoring of the current plan.

Publication today starts a 7 week period for members of the public, businesses and other organisations to make representations on the plan. The period for representations will close at 5pm on 12 April 2013.

Proposed SDP Cover Thumb

This is the last opportunity to make representations to the plan before it is submitted to Scottish Ministers for examination and approval later this year.

Around 600 copies of the plan have been circulated, with copies available in all libraries in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and both council headquarters. Copies of the plan are available on request from the address above but all documents are also available to download below.

The Proposed Plan is available below, along with the response form.
